Working on a 2011 lucky charm

Last Sunday, as I was testing some number stamps that I recently purchased, I decided that I wanted to make a lucky charm for 2011.
The idea of making lucky charms for the new year is not new. For the last 2-3 years I’ve been thinking about it but never actually doing it.

After doing a little research and some sketching, I chose the four leaf clover, which traditionally has been considered as a symbol of luck. Each leaf is believed to be connected with different aspects of luck: hope, faith, love and health.

I’ll be making a limited edition of these and I don’t plan to use a casting service. Each one is going to be completely handcrafted by me.
I’m not entirely satisfied yet and I will probably change the bail in the next version. They’re going to be available in sterling silver and gold plated sterling silver together with a cord and maybe a stone dangle.

Still have to figure out how to put together everything but at least this year I made a start!

As the holiday season is approaching, during December I’ll be back with new ideas about holiday decorating, handmade ornaments and more!

Thank you for visiting!
