Warm colors

I do love spools of yarn as well as everything that is related to fibers, stitching, needlework and embroidery.

After making this silver spool out of tubing and sheet metal, I decided to use it in a necklace design.
I chose a color pallet of olive green and golden yellow with a touch of amethyst purple.

Here’s the bracelet that I mentioned in my previous post:

The softness of the fuchsia, yellow, green and teal and beige felted wool is combined with the warmth of the wooden beads. To finish it off, I made a sterling silver toggle clasp, which was given a matte finish.

For me, one of the most joyful moments about fall is observing all these beautiful shades in the natural world as well as the subtle changes that the season brings and eventually letting them influence the work that I do. I can’t think of a better example that showcases them than the colors of the tourmalines.

Here’s one of my favorite bracelet designs, which combines a sterling silver heart with multicolor tourmaline faceted rondelles in shades of pink, blue, green, yellow, amber and black.
