Update on Ring-a-Week and TADA365

Since my latest update on Ring-a-Week and TADA356, there’s been a few major developments!

First, I finally received my package of resin, which meant I could finish the pieces. But just when the resin arrived, I had to leave for Rome, so the casting had to be put on hold for a few more days!

These are a few pics of the making process. My TADA entries also included a few inspirational images from Rome, as a reference for future collections. More about these ideas when time comes.

As soon as I got back from the trip, I made colors samples in an ice-cube tray. Then I moved on and poured the resin in the frames. I had to wait 24 hours for the resin to set. Afterwards, I sanded the pieces and did the final cleaning, polishing and finishing. It’s a tedious process but in the end I was quite pleased with the result.

Photographing these pieces is tricky, it’s hard to capture the colors and their transparency accurately.
I will try a bit more and hopefully I will have them photographed by a professional photographer soon.

Don’t miss the TADA365 Flickr Pool to find out what everyone’s been up to!

Ring-a-Week is also going great. If you haven’t visited the group’s pool, I strongly suggest that you will. So many stunning rings are added each day from more than 260 participants…..and it’s getting really hard to keep up with everything!

My latest contributions are these two rings: “Silver waves” just before the resin is poured and a copper heart combined with silver, in a ring that appears to be torn.

Actually the second ring is not a new design. But since I made it a couple more times lately, I thought I could add it to RAW. Though I’m determined to have as many new designs as possible for Ring-a-Week, I may have to use some of my orders every now and then, due to lack of time.
