Things that make me happy

Yesterday I received this wonderful print that I ordered from my friend Anika. When I first saw these urchins, it was love at first sight! To make it even more special, check out these cool stamps that Anika put on the envelope!

I also received this red coral print from Shannon Rankin. This was another instant favorite, that Shannon was kind enough to bring back to her shop for me.

As I was looking at the urchins, I felt very inspired and decided to find a way to reproduce this texture on metal clay. This medium is new to me and I don’t know yet how to make the pod shape but I started by making molds in polymer clay. One thing led to another and soon I gathered many materials that could potentially be molded:

I can’t wait to continue the experimentation but it will have to wait until next week. Starting tomorrow, I’ll be away for a short vacation.
