It’s this time of year again when I’m very excited to introduce to you the new good luck charm for 2013.
If you follow my work, you may have noticed my fascination with keys, vintage or skeleton keys in particular. Keys open doors to the unknown, reveal hidden secrets and create new paths. This is why they have been traditionally considered symbols of good luck.
This is the original model from which all the keys were cast:
I have wrapped a length of wire on the key’s stem to make the “X III”, which signifies 2013 in a more subtle manner. I would love to wear this key all year round and that wouldn’t be so easy if 2013 was too obvious. That being said, I also love charms where the numbers are clearly marked on the them….well maybe next year!
These keys can be worn as pendants: I have chosen several colorful cords and velvet ribbons to tie them with. Their length is adjustable and besides the color of the cord you can also choose between the sterling silver and the brass key.
I ‘ve also decided to make it available as an ornament that could be hang on your wall or on your christmas tree.
