Some new fused gold plated jewelry

I hadn’t done much fusing in the past, which is odd, considering how much I love melting metal with the torch!

Recently, my friend Evelyn made this fused copper ring, which inspired me to test the fusing technique in silver.

For a while, I became obsessed with it and ended up making a trio of fused sterling silver rings: one maintains a silver matte finish, the other is gold plated and the third has been heavily oxidized.

Then I had to experiment a little bit more and made these two pieces, which became pendants, by stringing them on suede leather cord and waxed linen cord. They are both sterling silver, which is fused and then gold plated.

This last necklace has nothing to do with the ones already described, except from the black cord. It’s my “Waves necklace”, that I was asked to make again recently. I thought it was a good opportunity to take new pictures of it with the black velvet ribbon. The original is made using the same ribbon in turquoise.
