R-A-D #235 8/23/2010 “Puzzled”
It’s been two weeks since my last Ring-a-Day round-up. Last Sunday I ‘ve been away on vacation, so today I’m presenting the rings of the last two weeks:
1. R-A-D #236 8/24/2010 “Drawing on Ice”, 2. R-A-D #237 8/25/2010 “This summer in pictures”, 3. R-A-D #238 8/26/2010 “A memory of summer”, 4. R-A-D #239 8/27/2010 “Keepsake”
When I forgot a beer into the freezer, I started “sketching” on the can, waiting to defrost! The next three rings are all made for the theme challenge “Farewell to Summer”: some of my favorite summer photos riveted on a sterling silver band, a picture featuring a beautiful summer memory embedded in resin, shells collected during this summer’s first swim kept in a vintage glass vial.
1. R-A-D #240 8/28/2010 “Jewels of the Sea. Part I”, 2. R-A-D #241 8/29/2010 “Jewels of the Sea. Part II”, 3. R-A-D #242 8/30/2010 “Last Performance”, 4. R-A-D #243 8/31/2010 “Cookie Ring”, 5. R-A-D #244 9/1/2010 “Pebble Pile”, 6. R-A-D #245 9/2/2010 “Dyed Seed”, 7. R-A-D #246 9/3/2010 “Copper Eucalyptus Leaf”, 8. R-A-D #247 9/4/2010 “Cestrum Nocturnum”, 9. R-A-D #248 9/5/2010 “Cyclamen Seed Pods”
The top three rings were photographed while I was at Kefalonia. Then, when I returned home, I felt the urge to bake some cookies and also make a ring with one of them! The white and creamy pebbles that I brought from the island, were shaped into a huge ring.
The next is made using a big dyed seed that I had bought long ago from Venice. I also made a sample of a thiner version of the Eucalyptus Ring. Then I returned to some of my favorite botanical forms: a stem of a cestrum nocturnum just about to bloom and a cyclamen seed pod.
Here’s some of my favorite rings that my friends from Ring-a-Day have made these last two weeks. Enjoy!
