Progress on the fairytales collection

These are a few sketches that I made for a crown ring, which is going to be included in the fairytales collection.

I used to have this great resistance towards the crown symbol but seeing it in the context of fairytales has completely changed my views. Now I’m very much attracted by the visual and narrative aspects of it.

Besides sketching, I’ve been doing some reading too lately, researching concepts and ideas for further inspiration.

“The Uses of Enchantment” is a classic read about fairytales and their meaning, written by psychoanalyst Bruno Bettelheim. I’ve been trying to find a greek copy of the book but I discovered that it’s been out of stock for years. I found an english version on Amazon and started reading the preview, which is quite large. Maybe I will have to order it online if I don’t manage to find it through my co-workers.

With all these ideas bouncing in my head, I think I should decide on which collection I will focus first. It’s hard because I ‘m tempted to work on all of them at the same time, though I know that for my own peace of mind I should pick just one to start with.

I hope I will sort things out soon. Right now, my TADA365 entries are a little bit of everything…a direct reflection of the confusion that is going on in my head!

Thanks for reading!
