I started working on this pair of fish earrings and my intention was to wrap the thread around the circle as you can see that I did with the blue thread. But as I was looking at them, I was tempted to play a bit more and create this net like pattern with the thread.
When I posted the photo on Flickr, several friends mentioned that they preferred this second version and suggested that it looked like the fish had managed to escape from the fisherman’s net.
I loved this idea and since I had already filed groves to secure the thread, it worked just fine. Here are the finished earrings:
Then, I thought I’d make another pair of net-like earrings, by threading teal colored crystals and pink tourmaline on thin sterling silver wire:
I also crocheted this custom pair of black and white daisies:
Each time I need to make some of my previous designs it is also a good chance to photograph the pieces again and update my photogallery. So here are a few more jewelry, that I thought their photos needed to be updated:
“Spider web pendant”, sterling silver, cotton thread, waxed linen thread.
“Silk turquoise bracelet”, turquoise, coral, silk, sterling silver.
“Heart earrings”, sterling silver, gold foil.
“Gold foil pendant”, sterling silver, gold foil, black silk cord.
These days, I’m also working on completing my first Ring-a-Day photo book, which is going to be printed on Blurb. I should be able to have more details about this project soon.
