I mentioned yesterday that I purchased a small quantity of silver metal clay because I was very curious to see how this material works.
Today, I spent a good part of the day making models and pressing objects on white plasticine, to create different textures. Most of the objects were within arm reach, lying on the workspace.
A feather:
Some tools, gravers and drill bits…..and an acorn!
Sphere, textured with a little help from a bead reamer:
Rubber stamps:
Different types of shells. I think the shells would make nice silicone molds for the clay to be pressed in them.
A stone, which produced this kind of planetary texture:
Plastic net. The picture is not very clear but the texture is surprisingly interesting:
An old filigree clasp and a twisted wire:
Thyme, lavender and rosemary leaves:
…..and a few more odd shapes:
I could use your feedback on these. What do you think? Which do you prefer?
Maybe I will find some time tomorrow to make the actual clay pieces or maybe I’ll test more textures. I’ll keep you posted!
