Letters of adornment, an update

After finishing the piece that would represent the letter “J”, it took me a while to get back on track and start working on my second letter.

“K” is for kalanchoe and I started with a few sketches for a ring.

Next, I made some flower samples in polymer clay:

I made the top flower and the scalloped leaf using sheet copper. The ring band is reticulated and fused silver. On the last minute, I decided to make an modification to the design and slightly elevate the flower by adding a sterling silver cone between the flower and the band.

The fabrication of the ring is now completed but I will need to clean it and decide how to finish it, before I post the final pictures.

Thanks for reading!
