Jewelry with an interesting texture

I’m often drawn by the look of the clean, matte surface of the silver but there are times when the textured metal is simply irresistible!

This “lace” texture was achieved by roll printing the silver using low relief patterns from Rolling Mill Resource.

Though the center of the texture is very interesting, I decided that the earrings would look better without it and saved the small textured pieces of silver for a future project.

The earrings were finished by adding my favorite red thread embroidery details:

Remember these tiny rings that I made by molding found shells from the beach?

I love the form and texture of the shells and I thought that a pair of post shell earrings was also in order! These earrings are tiny, they measure 8 x 5 mm.

This is a custom bracelet that I made last week, using a heart-shaped lava bead, pearls and coral.

Here, there’s no textured metal but I find that the surface of the lava bead is very appealing.

I’ll be back soon with more interesting textures, this time achieved through the process of etching.
