Geometric vs organic

If you ask me, this is not an actual dilemma. By observing closely, I’m often surprised by the complex geometric structures found in the world of nature and in many of the organic forms that I’m drawn to.

But for the shake of the argument, let’s pretend that there’s a clear distinction. These days I find myself going back and forth between geometrical and organic designs.

The coral and lava cube beads that I recently purchased, inspired me to make this sterling silver triangular prism post earring:

I tried combining it with the lava cube but I wasn’t entirely satisfied.

I think I prefer the version with the green onyx briolette:

Then I made this custom sterling silver branch earring, which is based on this single earring:

I briefly played with the mechanism of an ear cuff and I will definitely revisit this idea soon in future earrings.

…and again back to geometry with these polygon silver post earrings, which are custom made and will soon be finished with lapis cube stones. I’m looking forward to receiving the stones!

The eucalyptus post earring is ready to meet its new owner:

….and the orchidea and rosette earrings are finished and ready to be gold plated.
