Dressing up the house for the holidays

hearts

This year we challenged ourselves to decorate for the holidays using whatever was available around the house.

A large fir branch became our “tree” and we hung fabric ornaments, vintage spools, yarn balls, pom poms and crocheted flowers. This tree is inspired by this gorgeous handmade tree that Tif of Dottie Angel made last year.

The fabric hearts are made by recycling old linen pants and stitching snowflakes with red thread.

On the mantel we placed a big candle, a beautiful handmade christmas card, one of the fabric hearts and flowers on a tube glass jar.

For the coffee table, we arranged fir branches and some favorite ornaments in a wooden IKEA plate.

Tomorrow I’ll go find a few potted bulbs…..I’m thinking maybe paperwhites and hyacinths to complete the festive look of the house!

Thank you for visiting!
