Jasmine Flower Bracelet, sterling silver, waxed linen cord, embroidery thread.
These days I m feeling completely lost regarding the collections that I wanted to make. I’m working a lot and making many new pieces but I’m not sure if they are related to my initial ideas!
Not that it matters so much anyway. I find it truly enjoyable to be open and “make as I go”. I will try to sort things out later, when a pattern seems to emerge.
Maybe I could add a new series, which I will call “Summertime” or something similar and keep making more of the things that I like.
So, in my daily adventures, I felt like making an everyday jasmine bracelet, combining silver and threads. I like the color scheme on this one and I think I may keep it as a reference for the future fairytales series.
I added a couple more variations to the tiny gold plated sterling silver ring. I thought it looked nice with the white rose and the black dahlia on top.
Then I remembered that I had an old ferric chloride solution stored in a glass container and decided to see what would happen if I tried to etch this brass fish with it.
After having left it for 2 or 3 hours in the etching solution, I noticed that there were a lot of wrinkles on the surface, which weren’t intentional. Is this normal or maybe it happened because it stayed there for too long? I don’t really know because I have only tried etching on copper a couple times in the past.
I’m not exactly sure if I prefer the plain or the etched version but I made a single earring with it. It will stay like that until further notice!
I also crocheted a few flowers, soon to become earrings and tank top embellishments:
