Butterflies

When you cannot choose on which collection you should focus first, you can always start a new one!

While I’ve been trying to decide whether I was going to work on the fairytales, or the botanical or the tiny jewelry series, I started noticing butterflies everywhere around me. I was fascinated by the variation in shapes and colors.

The picture above is a page of my journal, where I collected various drawings, magazine clippings and random notes.

I adhered a few more on the wall:

This morning, I finally found some time to start working on the first butterfly:

It ‘s almost ready, just needs a bit more cleaning. It’s made with copper, brass and sterling silver. I will use this first butterfly to make a single earring, that I’ve been wanting to do for a long time.

So, for the next days, I’ll be making a series of 10 butterflies, all in mixed metals….and maybe I will add fibers or gemstones, I’m not sure about this yet.

I hope I won’t get sidetracked by something else this time!
