This is a tip that my first metalsmith told me, years ago. If you don’t have a sinusoidal stake, just hammer the ring with a doming punch, slightly larger than the ring’s diameter.
Hammer each side until you achieve the shape that you want.
I remember how thrilled I was and ended up making many versions of this ring back then.
This time, I experimented with different embroidery threads and ways of finishing the ends: either knot and hide them or not.
