Ring-a-Week, #35, “Gone fishing”, sterling silver, pigmented resin.
Following my latest resin fish bracelet and pendant, I made this big fish ring, thinking that it would help me say goodbye to summer. I find it difficult to make the transition into autumn, especially now that the weather is so summery!
The fish is considerably bigger than the previous two and it measures approximately 3 x 2.2 x 0.1cm. It is filled with resin in olive green and bright purple.
The resin gave me a hard time with this one and I had to repeat the process three times. The first time I wasn’t satisfied with how the colors turned out and the second I must have messed up with the resin/hardener ratio because it wouldn’t set. Fortunately the third attempt was my lucky one!
Here’s another photo of the ring, while it was curing among other resin pieces.
