Botanical sketches

Red oregano dried bloom and drawing

These are some recent drawings of botanical forms that I’m collecting. The drawings are next to each natural specimen and I’m putting them all to an inspiration board that I’m slowly compiling.

There’s no intention to translate them into jewelry designs yet. I’m collecting them because I find them interesting and stimulating.

….eager to discover where they will lead me!

A couple of links that I like:

  • A page of Geninne’s new botanical journal.
  • A preview of the new painted calendar from Bookhou containing some wonderful and minimalistic, botanical illustrations.

If you haven’t participated already, the book giveaway will be open until Sunday morning. A copy of Elizabeth Olver’s The Art of Jewelry Design will be sent to one lucky winner.

Happy weekend to everyone!

Thanks for reading!
