In Greece, on the first day of March, we wear bracelets that are usually made by twisting two strands of red and white thread. These bracelets are supposed to protect us from the sun.
I love honouring this tradition which gives me one more reason to play with cords and braiding techniques. This year, I decided to go with red & white waxed linen cord, I chose the fishbone braiding and finished the bracelets with howlite flat rondelles, which function as clasps.
Last year’s design, made by twisting red & white embroidery thread is also available. Here’s a batch of bracelets, ready to ship!
