Anticlastic ring, the easy way!

Anticlastic ring, the easy way!

This is a tip that my first metalsmith told me, years ago. If you don’t have a sinusoidal stake, just hammer the ring with a doming punch, slightly larger than the ring’s diameter.

Hammer each side until you achieve the shape that you want.

I remember how thrilled I was and ended up making many versions of this ring back then.

This time, I experimented with different embroidery threads and ways of finishing the ends: either knot and hide them or not. Which version do you prefer?

love the loose knots!

Thank you Pamela, I need to reconsider this design. Leaving them loose is also easier than having to hide them grin
